Thoughts about College Life: It wasn't too long ago when I was in college and I still vividly remember how enjoyable and exciting that time can be. In the time since I have also realized how much time I had wasted and how many opportunities for spiritual growth I had missed out on during my college career. So I am thankful for not only for the opportunity to pass on what knowledge and wisdom I've gained but also to minister to collegians that are dedicated and eager to grow in knowing God more.

Thought about College Life: Having graduated from College Life over a year ago, I've realized the importance of the Titus 2 principle that Pastor Pat has talked about for years. Having been discipled by a Staff Member when I was a Senior in College helped me tremendously as I had a tough transition into the Single and Working life. I'm excited for this upcoming year as we share the Gospel on the campus of UCSD and SDSU.

Thoughts about College Life: I am super excited to have this privilege to serve on College Staff! This past year God provided many opportunities to meet up with the college girls and they won me over with their charm, smiles, and of course meal points! =P just kidding...but in all seriousness, God taught me much through these college girls' teachability, passion, energy, and desire to make every attempt to honor Christ through their lives. I am pumped and ready to labor hard alongside of these collegians for the sake of the gospel!

Thoughts about College Life: I'm excited to be a part of College Life! Seeing that I did not commit to a home church while I was in college, I hope to challenge students to evaluate their view of the church in light of God's word and to be obedient as a faithful member of the body of Christ. The collegians at LBC encourage me as they take part in both the life of the church at Lighthouse and opportunities to reach out to their campuses. I am looking forward to learning alongside the students in College Life how to love God more everyday and to grow in love for the church as well.

Cindy Chu
Education: UCSD, B.A. Political Science (2007)
Family: Born in the Land of Northern Cal, Sacramento to be exact, with two older brothers, one older sister, and three beautiful doggies.
Occupation: maybe one day...
Favorite Verse(s): Romans 5:6-8
Hobbies: Volleyball and hiking are fun warm-weather activities, snowboarding is good for the winter, and chess is an excellent year-long sport (don't laugh, chess is cool).
Thoughts about College Life: I've seen a lot of collegians enter college with a ton of passion/zeal for God, and I've seen a lot of collegians enter college with a lot of uncertainty regarding the Chrsitian faith. I've also seen both groups discover what commitment actually entails (a lifelong pursuit of holiness in a discipleship relationship with Jesus Christ). When this commitment is revealed and truly tested, I've seen those who profess the faith (proudly or timidly) either flourish spiritually or fully embrace worldly ideals. It's such a privilege to be able to witness God's work in all these lives and perhaps even be used by Him during their foundational years. Although I get tired easily and like to sleep early, I love the constant energy, excitement, sincerity, eagerness, you name it of these college students. One of my greatest hopes for College Life is to see the students (as well as myself!) grow in their love and undesrtanding of God.

Thoughts about College Life: Collegelife is such an awesome ministry. It really challenged me in the way that I was thinking about the reasons why I was pursuing the career that I was pursuing. Collegelife is full of people, both the staff and the students, that are really excited about maturing in their faith. I am excited to see how God is going to grow this ministry and the people in it.
